"I have an army!" "we have a hulk!" makes me grin like a 5 year old every time!

Lol, I just started a summer movie thread!

I'm going to see it, but to be honest I haven't really enjoyed any of the set up movies.

Tink, that is the best line! Love it.

When the Hulk finally reappears in the big show down towards the end, the movie finds its sense of fun. Sadly it's lacking up until that time!

No need to see it in 3D adds nothing to the film.

Stay for the credits there is another bit of storyline, after the title of the film.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

I'm looking forward to seeing the movie this weekend. A theater near me is showing an Avengers marathon (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, ending with The Avengers at midnight). I'd love to see that!

Saw the midngiht show last night (well, 12:06) and loved it. Stockard, between Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Chris Evans, RDJ, and even Mark Ruffalo - this movie is full of some serious man candy. Also loved seeing Cobie Smulders (Robin from How I Met Your Mother) on the big screen.

Also, our projector was broken for about 40 minutes before the movie finally started. Some audience took care of the waiting by trying to act out the movie. Instigated by my own boyfriend. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4fRMNLkOE8&feature=youtu.be

Saw a screening. Loved it to pieces. A good movie of fun and more comic book-y than any recent superhero film I have seen, thanks to Joss Whedon having a comic book writing background. The last few minutes of the montage of people reacting to The Avengers was a bit too cheesy.

Good one-liners for a lot of people but Tony 'Snark' Stark still wins. 'Shakespeare in the Park' is a pretty hard one to top (though Thor's, 'He's adopted!' was pretty funny).

But Hulk stole the show. Ruffalo was pretty great too. I was impressed with how effective Bruce Banner/Hulk were used. I thought his whole story would bring the film down but he was used just right.

I wouldn't be surprised if Black Widow got her own movie or if her and Hawkeye as a team became its own movie.

**SPOILERS**
Harry Dean Stanton has a great small part when he is a witness to Hulk smashing through a building and becoming Bruce Banner again.

Hulk slamming Loki and waking up Iron Man earned a lot of laughs and applause from the audience I was with.

The Shakespeare in the Park line KILLED ME! Hysterical. Also **SLIGHT SPOILER** Hulk picking up Loki and repeatedly smashing him against the ground? Too good.

I'm going to see the film later this afternoon. I'll post my thoughts later. Its opening gross is an estimated $80.5 million. Depending on how well it holds today and tomorrow, it could top 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2's record for the highest opening weekend of all-time in North America.

Way too short, should have been much louder, the fight scenes were too slow and the death count should have been much higher, and who wants a comic book movie with a heart? Other than that it was a really meh film.
PEACE.

Too short? It was over 2 hours long with zippy pacing after the first act, imo.

The action scenes actually felt like something out of a comic book in the best sense. The fluidity and tracking of the action was like going panel to panel reading a comic book. Give me that over shaky-cam or Zack Snyder's pretentious slow-motion.

As for the body count, they shot in Cleveland and made it look like New York rather than shoot on location (which likely would have done a number on the budget). For me there is always something a little off when the location does not really invoke its real setting.

Saw it this morning and loved it. It is over 2 hours and 20 minutes and it flies by. The action sequences are awesome and it was fun to cheer along the character with a packed crowd.

I thought the 3D added a lot and was worth the extra- 3D movies are only 10 bucks in the morning at AMC anyway so why not?

The Hulk was my favorite, and I was surprised by how many laughs he got. I didn't know how well they would make him work in the story, especially during the last sequences.

Joss Whedon deserves a lot of credit, and yes you should stay for the credits.
Marie: Don't be in such a hurry about that pretty little chippy in Frisco. Tony: Eh, she's a no chip!

Great movie! Even non-comic book movie fans will love the humor. So much laughter and applause in the theater I have to see it again cuz I missed stuff due to my own hilarity.

Finally saw it tonight, and I was blown away. It had anything you could ask for in a superhero movie. Very well done all around. And, may I add, the post-credits scene was hilarious.

Production on this one must have been exhausting, but it was SO worth it.

What a great ride, stands proudly alongside The Dark Knight and Spider-Man 2 as the ultimate in superhero movies.

Considering what they had to accomplish, and how much ground they had to cover, I have absolutely ZERO complaints, and I can't wait to see it again. And Tom Hiddleston made for a bewitching and charismatic villain.

ETA: Zero complaints, aside from Cobie Smulders.

I haven't seen Iron Man, Thor, etc. None of them. Are they required viewing for this movie?

It's not completely necessary, but I would highly recommend it. I can only imagine that it would result in a more satisfying experience.

Brian, it is not necessary but you will miss a lot of backstory. If you don't know the history of the main guys (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk) just look them up on Wikipedia.
