Hermitage Hotel Gala to Highlight Opening Night for Circle Players' TITANIC THE MUSICAL

 Nashville's historic Hermitage Hotel will be the site of an opening night gala to herald the revival of Circle Players' production of Titanic the Musical at TPAC's James K. Polk Theatre. The opening night gala is set for Thursday, April 5, at 5 p.m.; Titanic the Musical runs April 5-8.

The gala will feature a dinner reminiscent of the dinner created for the Titanic's first-class passengers, as well as a silent auction with themed packages. John Joslyn, co-owner of Titanic Museum Attraction, will give a special presentation based on his experience with the Titanic, including a $6 million expedition and multiple Titanic television specials. Mr. Joslyn has developed and currently oversees two high-end Titanic museum-attractions in Branson, Missouri and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Individual tickets to the gala dinner are $125 per person. Table packages are available for $1,600, which includes a table for 10 to the gala and 10 tickets to the opening night performance at TPAC. Gala tickets are available at (615) 332-7529, www.circleplayers.net or www.ticketsnashville.com.

The original Broadway production of Titanic the Musical, which won five Tony Award in 1997 including Best Musical, presents a historic retelling of what happened on the ship. The Circle Players' interpretation, which debuted in 2009 and was Tennessee's first production of the show, combines dedication to historical accuracy and rich local ties.

The production will feature more than 60 local actors, including surprise celebrity walk-on roles each performance. The orchestra will include music students from Tennessee State University, Nashville's only public university, which also observes its 100th anniversary this year.

"Kicking off the production with an opening night gala shows just how special this production is to Circle Players," said Tim Larson, president of Circle Players and director of the production.

"We're honored to host John Joslyn, who has dedicated many years to honoring the memory of the Titanic and her passengers. Hearing his presentation in a setting that pays homage to the ship will surely set the stage for the production at TPAC."
