Brighton Collectibles Makes NCT Part of National Campaign to Raise Funds for ChildrenÂ's Arts Programs

Brighton Collectibles has partnered with Nashville Children's Theatre (NCT) for their Brighton Loves Kids Across America campaign. This fundraising endeavor focuses on the sale of Brighton's unique Americana bracelet, and the company will donate 50% of proceeds to NCT.

For each $48 Americana bracelet sold at the Brighton Collectible store located in The Mall at Green Hills, $24 will be donated to NCT to directly impact programs benefitting the youth of Middle Tennessee. This campaign runs from June 1 through July 31.

In addition to bracelet sales, this local Brighton Collectibles will hold a bake sale in their store to raise additional funds for NCT. Homemade treats will be sold on Saturday, July 14 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., or until the baked goods are gone.

While in the store, customers can enter a drawing for a pass for four people to attend all shows in the 2012-13 season.

After almost a decade of supporting charities and giving over $8 million in donations, this iconic accessory company has turned its focus towards a range of kids' charity programs for the arts such as ballet, orchestra, symphony, theatre, and painting programs.

In researching children's arts organizations in Nashville, Brighton Collectibles selected NCT as the best choice due to the theatre's longtime dedication to children and its belief that a cultural heritage is the right of all children.

Jeffrey Ellis is a Nashville-based writer, editor and critic, who's been covering the performing arts in Tennessee for more than 25 years. He is the recipient of the Tennessee Theatre Association's Distinguished Service Award for his coverage of theatre in the Volunteer State and was the founding editor/publisher of Stages, the Tennessee Onstage Monthly. He is a past fellow of the National Critics Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre Center and is the founder/executive producer of The First Night Honors, held during Labor Day Weekend, which honor oustanding theater artists in Tennessee in recognition of their lifetime achievements and includes The First Night Star Awards and the Most Promising Actors. Midwinter's First Night, held the first Sunday in January after New Year's Day, honors outstanding productions and performances throughout the state. Further, Ellis directed the Nashville premiere of La Cage Aux Folles, The Last Night of Ballyhoo and An American Daughter, as well as award-winning productions of Damn Yankees, Company, Gypsy and The Rocky Horror Show, with Ellis honored by The Tennessean as best director of a musical for both Company and Rocky Horror.
