Three of the country's most dynamic, cutting-edge choreographers combine to create a performance full of entertaining and inspiring contemporary dance.

A hauntingly romantic duet, Ploughing the Dark is inspired by the life of Anton Chekhov and his wife Olga Knipper, who lived in different cities purusing their individual careers and kept their relationship alive through deeply personal and poetic love letters. Sarah Slipper's intensely passionate choreography is set to music written by Vanderbilt University's Associate Professor of Composition, Michael Kurek. Nashville Ballet last performed Ploughing the Dark in 2007.

Set to Cuban music from the 1940's, The Whistling, choreographed by Dominic Walsh, is a fun, lighthearted ensemble performance. With its fluid, yet athletic movements, The Whistling was voted audience favorite at the American Idol-style 2010 New American Talent/Dance choreographic competition hosted by Ballet Austin.

Created specifically for Attitude, frequent Nashville Ballet collaborator Gina Patterson will create a new work inspired by the sounds of Music City and highlighting the immense talent permeating Nashville. Patterson's credentials as a choreographer extend across the globe, including two recent collaborations with Nashville Ballet - Cryin' Out, set to the music of Gary Nicholson, and Anne Frank.
